Research & Development

Peptimmune’s research and development efforts focus on developing peptide and peptide copolymer therapeutics for the treatment of CNS and Autoimmune disorders.

The Company is using its DEEP™ Technology (Directed Expansion of Epitope Permutation) to design peptides and peptide copolymers for development as therapeutics, diagnostic kits, and as reagents for antibody generation.

Target biology:

ribbon graphic

Peptimmune’s target biology focuses on MHC Class II molecules found on antigen presenting cells, monocytes, and B cells, which bind peptides and stimulate immune responses. Peptimmune designs peptides that can modulate the immune response for use as therapeutics or vaccine-focused applications, and also in the generation of specifically diverse antibody responses.

What is a Copolymer?

  • Variables
    • Amino acid ratio at output — process dependent
    • Primary polypeptide sequence
    • Length of peptides
    • Biological properties of each species
  • Mixture of “declensional” polypeptides
    • Common parameters
      • Fixed number of amino acids
      • Fixed amino acid ratio at input
      • Molecular weight distribution
